Camp Airstream

A two bedroom, two bathroom camp that sleeps up to four adults and two children.

The Downeast Airstream is a 1972 Airstream Ambassador that has been completely renovated to provide luxury and comfort while deep in the woods. Our A-Frame cabin is a very cool twist on the tiny house theme and it makes a perfect second bedroom and bathroom. Here are some things that make Glamping Downeast a unique glamping experience.

  • The View – Camp Airstream’s deck offers a fantastic view of the Lake and the wetlands. And you can see Cadillac Mountain from the edge of the lake, just steps from camp.
  • The Beds- We took out the 70’s style twin beds from the Airstream and added a Queen with a hybrid mattress, crisp, clean sheets, and cozy duvet. And the settee across from the bathroom is perfect for kids. We also have a crib, high chair, and a Pack and Play available.
  • The Bathroom – The Downeast Airstream has a bathroom with hot water and a real flush toilet. And its enclosed (private) outdoor shower looks out toward the lake.
  • The A-Frame – Tiny but remarkably spacious with a double bed, a sofa or a twin bed, and its own bathroom with hot water, a toilet that flushes, and its own private outdoor shower.
  • The Location – We are close to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor yet far enough away to avoid the crowds, traffic, and noise.
  • Connectivity – Although we are deep in the woods there is very good 5G cellular data service available.
  • Cooking – The Airstream features a kitchenette with a sink, a refrigerator, a microwave and a Keurig coffee maker. Our outdoor kitchen, which is in a common area, features a grill station, stove top, and microwave. We provide pots, pans and cooking utensils and plates, cups, and eating utensils.
  • Nightly Campfire – The campfire ring with comfortable Adirondack chairs is adjacent to the outdoor kitchen area. There is no need to bring or buy firewood, we have plenty.

We do not allow dogs or animals of any kind. It is a safety issue. There is a risk of an interaction with wildlife in the area.

Please note that the Camp Airstream is about 125 feet down a gravel path from the parking area (and just steps from the edge of the lake) so you cannot park right next to the Camp. We have a luggage cart/wagon available if needed.

Glamping Downeast is in Maine’s great outdoors so be prepared to accept the inherent risk of your adventure including wildlife, insects, and unpredictable conditions (we can’t control weather). Come with an adventurous and open mind, and some bug spray.
